TRAVELLERS! Sick of eating alone?

About two years ago I had an idea which has nothing to do with kitchensurfing.com.

Imagine you are discovering a city like London on your own. A hotel is no option any longer as you are young, open and willing to meet new people, using couchsurfing or hostels. You are about to starve; and the one and only natural behavior is to check-out the best restaurants in your closer surrounding on your mobile advice.  (or you just ask someone)
But using GMaps, Qype and Foursquare would not fulfill your need. What you (and sometimes probably everyone) needs is a real meal, with real conversations in a real surrounding. A restaurant just works if you have friends, coming with you. Going alone into a restaurant when everybody else has someone to talk with does not create the best feeling.

But what if there existed an App that shows you a map with all people in your 1/2mile radius that are cooking at the moment – or later. It would show you what they cook, how much it would cost you to participate and how the location looks like. Of course the cook has a profile. And so has the guest.
So in case I know that I would arrive in London at 10am, I would send a request to potential cooks which plan to cook before 1pm. Of course I am vegetarian, loving regional and organic food; and these would be my searching criteria. (+ not more then a mile from Madame Thussauds, etc.)

The request has to be answered within 30 mins. The cook could see who I am (like an Airbnb/Couchsurfing profile), accept and I would bring wine from Portugal + 10€.

The good thing about such a platform is, that you don’t have to use it as you use Facebook. Your taste doesn’t change too often… so you just type it in once.
The approach is quite similar to Badoo, Airbnb, Couchsurfing – and as far as I know it doesn’t exist yet. A niche product for a micro-problem.
